"Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made" (Psalm 145:13).  Yesterday I met a friend I had not seen for several years and we visited for a few minutes, catching up. As he departed he shared a perspective that's quite helpful in describing an aspect of encouragement ministry, stating our brief visit had been like a daily vitamin!We hope to encourage you today, in many cases by providing some vitamins for your soul. Vitamins, although in some cases therapeutic in nature, are generally intended to be more preventive and have the effect of strengthening us even when we are in health and doing well. Such is the case with regular teaching in God's Word and we hope these daily encouragement messages are a part of that. But some reading this are in the midst of a hard trial. You are presently experiencing a time in life when it's as if the water has come up to your neck, the colorful description of hard times the Psalmist gives us in the first daily text! Clearly it is a depiction of one who is caught in rising waters and if he is not rescued will surely drown. We believe one of the greatest perspectives we can have is a daily recognition of God's faithful and abundant blessings and the absolute varacity of God's promises. In the physical realm these blessings vary among us. Some have better health than others, others more of this world's goods, and there are those who have greater or more frequent heartaches. We especially consider those who deal with chronic matters such as a reader we periodically hear from with two special needs adult children.  Because we live in the physical realm we inevitably focus on these. Nevertheless, how quickly these things can change! Any security we have in the physical world is very tenuous. We consider the city of Joplin, where my folks lived for awhile before I was born and where Brooksyne has relatives. When the tornado swept through the town several weeks ago it disrupted and devastated thousands of lives and we continue to pray for them and many others.There is such uncertainty in the current economic conditions and millions are affected. We all know that the "steady" job can quickly vanish. An unfaithful spouse, a tragic accident or medical diagnosis can alter our present and future plans instantly. Then we consider world conditions! This much is sure, we really have no guarantees of security in regard to the physical realm. But in the spiritual realm our security is absolute with no deficiency whatsoever. These blessings are safe and abundantly adequate regardless of where we live or how "blessed" we happen to be in the physical. My Christian brother or sister reading this in Africa, India or anywhere else on this planet is equally blessed with me in the spiritual realm. What a tremendously assuring truth is expressed in our second daily verse. These are 3,000 year old words written by King David: "Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made" (Psalm 145:13). The first part of the verse is classic Hebrew parallelism, a great reinforcement of the reality of God's eternal Kingdom.
1) The LORD is faithful to all His promises. 2) The Lord is loving toward all He has made. These statements may not always appear to be true in regard to our own experiences. In fact when you are in water up to your neck they sure don't! But they are absolutely true in the spiritual realm and equally so regardless of the extent of our physical and material blessing or lack thereof. For those presently encountering a shaking that reveals the insecurity of this present world, we pray that today's daily encouragement vitamin has a therapeutic impact. Let us consider the altogether abundant blessings and promises of God: "He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all--how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:32). Join us as declare, "We will stand on every promise of God's Word!" Be encouraged today, Stephen & Brooksyne Weber  Daily prayer: Father, You promise to give us all things that we have need of as we seek You and Your Kingdom above all. May Your light shine in our hearts to give us the light of Your glory in the face of our Lord Jesus Christ. Remind us continually through the presence of the Holy Spirit and through reading the Scriptures to trust You for that which weighs heavy on our hearts this day. We pray this in Jesus' name.
