"Now Or Later, The Choice Is Yours"

ListenListen to us read this message on your audio player.

"Therefore God has highly exalted Him (Jesus Christ) and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:9-11).

We arrived back home from our trip to Wisconsin Friday evening and are pleased to be home. Our pets and homestead are fine and we resume our chaplain visitation this week. It was good to be back in our home church yesterday where we regularly fellowship with our brothers and sisters.

Thursday evening we attended a gospel concert at the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana Indiana that featured a musical family we enjoy listening to. The Collingsworth family is comprised of a mom and dad, their four children, and a new daughter in law. Other family members work behind the scenes as well. We will share a selection of their music in our resource section below.

The concert concluded with a singing of the chorus derived from our daily text. You will likely recognize this chorus as many of us have sung it for decades:

He is Lord, He is Lord
He is risen from the dead and He is Lord
Every knee shall bow
Every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord

Phil Collingsworth, the group leader, mused that he would like to be within earshot of hearing members of the ACLU make this confession during this endtime event! I'd like to be standing right next to him. For non American readers the ACLU, along with another godless group from Wisconsin called the "Freedom From Religion Foundation", are bent on stamping out the Christian faith in America from the public square. It seems any expression of Christian faith is a target, with a current effort to monitor Bible-faithful preaching through a filter of political correctness.

But one future day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. We can willingly make this confession now or join even the most hardened atheist and God-hater who will make it at the great judgment. At that time I am not sure "choice" is the right word but rather a stunning realization that life was lived all wrong on this earth and the Jesus who was mocked, scorned and ignored is Lord indeed.

You can make this confession now or later, the choice is yours. It is life's most important choice.

Be encouraged today,

Stephen & Brooksyne Weber

Praying manDaily prayer:
Father, it is because of Jesus; His loving compassion toward us evident in His incarnation, His ministry, His death and resurrection, that we willingly and joyfully bow on our knees and confess with our tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. We deny ourselves the world and all that it offers to make Jesus our Lord. For some of us it is a commitment without a great deal of fallout but for others it can ostracize them from their family, their village, or even cost them their lives. Whether in life or death we want to be among those who bear witness of the truth, and are willing to suffer death in the cause of Christ (Acts 22:20; Rev. 2:13; 17:6). We pray for our brothers and sisters in Syria and in others regions of this world who are undergoing persecution, many of them fleeing for their lives and others laying down their lives for the cause of Christ. How consoling to know that this is not the end but they have received the victor's crown of eternal life where there will be no more hardship, no persecution, nor a trace of sin. Keep us faithful no matter what, in the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Unlike Lancaster County the Amish ride bikes such as this young family out for an early evening ride. Our local Amish must use scooters rather than bikes.
